Cocoa Cinnamon
If you love coffee, you have to come here. No questions. Voted the best coffee shop in Durham County by Indy Week, Cocoa Cinnamon has 3 Bull City locations and each has their own unique character. Their coffee will rock your world and we love that they are so focused on community and environmentally friendly.
The Lakewood location (pictured above) has fresh churros and they even have a roastery here! Cocoa Cinnamon has their own coffee brand, 4th Dimension, that is served at all locations and is available for purchase. Bean Traders
It may be located in a strip mall, but don’t let that fool you. It’s surprisingly large inside with plenty of seating and they have some of the funkiest decor in Durham. We love that they roast their own beans and have such an interesting menu with drinks like Phunky Monkey, Chocolate Habanero, and Dirty Hippie. If you just want an americano, they do that to perfection as well!
Unscripted Hotel
The coffee shop here is awesome and it turns into a bar at night. Tons of cozy couches, the perfect place to set up camp with a cup of coffee and your laptop. They serve up Toby’s Estate Coffee which comes from Australia. Grab a FREE small cup of it with your Shop Durham card!

Parker & Otis
Life would be much duller without Parker & Otis. I always find something so very ‘Durham’ here and a greeting card that makes me laugh out loud. This is the perfect place for an afternoon pick-me-up, friend coffee date, or rainy day. They have a large, shaded outdoor seating area for those warm days too! They serve Counter Culture coffee at great prices. Plus you can pick up tons of great local products to go!

Joe Van Gogh
Joe Van Gogh is everything a coffee shop should be. Excellent coffee, friendly baristas, and free wi-fi. They have 4 locations in Bull City. Be sure to check out their lavender syrup made in hose. You’ll find their coffee served at a multitude of other local businesses, like Guglhupf, Pine Cone, and Early Bird Donuts, and for a good reason- their coffee is AMAZING!
