Durham, North Carolina–The Eno River Association (ERA) will present OneEno – EnoFest 2020, a live broadcast originating from the historic Carolina Theatre in downtown Durham on Friday, July 3, 2020, from 8 pm – 11 pm and rebroadcasting Saturday, July 4th at 8 pm. The ERA plans this event following the cancellation of the 2020 version of their popular Festival for the Eno, which has brought people together to celebrate the Eno River each year since 1980.
The OneEno event will feature live and recorded musical performances, a virtual crafts market, documentary footage about local foodways, profiles of local artists and venues, environmental education, and of course, the Eno River.
Host Joe Newberry will emcee the evening’s entertainment which will feature musical performances by the Hamiltones, Caique Vidal & Batuque, Jim Watson, Indigo de Souza, Jon Shain & Mark Simonsen (Flying Mice), Sonny Miles, and Dwight Haskins with specials guests Violet Bell, John Dee Holeman, the Chatham Rabbits, Kamara Thomas and more.
Festival tee shirts, hats, and merchandise will be for sale in the plaza outside the Carolina Theatre from 3 pm – 8 pm Friday, July 3 along with offerings from local food trucks, and fresh popcorn and concessions from the Carolina Theatre. Masks are required and social distancing protocols must be observed.
