Durham 18th Annual MLK Jr. / Black History Parade

11 am to 4 pm | 3501 Fayetteville St

“Acknowledge The Past, Improve The Future” is the theme of the 18th Annual NC MLK Black History Month Parade & Block Party, featuring marching bands, step teams, dance groups, school and church groups, cars, trucks, businesses, civic organizations and more. The theme is inspired by a speech Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered entitled “A Look to the Future” on September 2, 1957. Professor, Emmy-Award winning producer and BlackSpace founder Pierce Freelon, and Joshua Gunn, Durham Chamber of Commerce Vice President, will serve as Grand Marshals.

From 11am – 4pm Burlington Ave/St. Joseph’s AME Parking Lot will have DJs, food trucks, bounce houses, obstacle course, vendors, exhibitors and more.

2020 Good Food Awards NC Showcase
