Gamers rejoice! Boxcar Bar and Arcade’s third location opens today in Downtown Durham. Don’t sit at home playing Mario Kart when you could be sipping on Fullsteam beer and playing Pac-Man, Dance Dance Revolution, or Mortal Kombat.
You’ll find them at 621 Foster Street, overlooking Durham Athletic Park baseball field, across from Geer Street Garden and around the corner from Durham’s famous Motorco Music Hall. This will be the first Boxcar Bar + Arcade to serve food, with a wood fired Neapolitan style pizza kitchen. There’s a seriously cool 3-ton Marra Forni pizza oven.
With a space spanning over 10,000 square feet, the newest Boxcar Bar + Arcade mirrors the other Boxcar Bar + Arcade locations with a full bar (including 24 American craft drafts), 70+ arcade games, a 1,500 square foot private event space and covered patio, along with a sizeable outdoor gaming area. Draft beers are plentiful, and regular drink specials mean you’ll always have spare change for the arcade games.
The private event space is sizeable and perfect for wedding receptions, corporate events, team building and so on.
Note: The space is dog-friendly but not kid-friendly. 21 and up only, y’all.
