2019 Running of the Bulls 8K
June 1, 2019 @ 7:15 am to 10:15 am at Foster St, Durham, NC 27701
Why you should go: This scenic course will wind through the historic and revitalized neighborhoods of downtown Durham, American Tobacco Campus, Trinity Park and Old North Durham neighborhoods, and finish with a lap of the warning track inside the historic Old Durham Athletic Park!

Why you should go: Bring your whole family, play farm games and eat pie in celebration of 25 years of the awesome nonprofit SEEDS in Durham.

15th Annual Beaver Queen Pageant – Damilton!
June 1, 2019 @ 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Beaver Lodge Local 1504
Why you should go: Pageant contestants duel on stage to see who is crowned Beaver Queen 2019. Come hear the stories of Hair-n Furr, Alexander Damilton, Queen George, powdered tails… and the founding of a beaver-birthed nation as the lodge is turned upside down.
It all takes place across the banks of the Ellerbe in the Duke Park Meadow on June Furst with the pre-show at 4:00pm and the pageant firing off at 5:00pm.

Lobby Call: The Great Durham Odyssey

Why you should go: Assemble your all-star team and join us for The Great Durham Odyssey on Sunday, June 2nd, a celebration of the sesquicentennial hosted in partnership with Durham 150. It’s a multi-faceted series of challenges, set across the downtown landscape, will test your knowledge, creativity, and comradery while promising to teach you a thing or two about the City of Durham’s 150-year history.

Why you should go: Local makers and vintage vendors will come together to create a unique shopping experience with a diverse selection of high quality and original goods. The Beat Market at Locopops

Storytime on the Roof

Why you should go: This summer, kids and their grownups are invited to join the children’s librarians from Durham County’s North Regional Library for Storytime on the Roof. AfterHours: Adult Summer Camp
June 13, 2019 @ 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm at Museum of Life and Science
Why you should go: Take a journey back to your childhood summer camp experience: make friendship bracelets, hit the target with archery, race your friends to the top of the 28′ climbing wall, make s’mores, and create a perler bead masterpiece all while enjoying your favorite adult beverage. PLAYlist Concert Series: Alanna Royale

Why you should go: Every year, we love Central Park’s free music series in the summer. Alanna Royale makes classic-minded R&B and soul music for the modern age. Summer Food Truck Rodeo ft. The Up and Up

Why you should go: A Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo is an all-ages Sunday afternoon gathering of dozens of the Triangle’s most popular food trucks, five times each year. The event is free to attend. Locally-brewed craft beer, cider, and a band or DJ are always on hand. Dogs are allowed at the Food Truck Rodeo on regular (not retractable) leashes.
Farm Animal Festival
June 22, 2019 @ 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Duke Homestead State Historic Site
Why you should go: Learn about the importance of animals, birds, and pollinators on farms and the local region, both historically and today. Bring the kids for a day of visiting with animals, interactive games, engaging crafts, imaginative face painting, and more! Tootie’s Mobile Kitchen food truck will be selling food throughout the event. Sparkle Body Arts will be offering face painting for a fee. Admission — $1
DIY Fest

Sour to the People Beer Festival

Why you should go: Hi-Wire Brewing at Golden Belt is back at it again with the first annual “Sour to the People” beer festival on Saturday, June 22 from 6-10pm at their Taproom in Durham, NC. The line-up will feature 20 kick-ass nationwide and local breweries bringing some of the rarest and sought after sour and wild ales to the Triangle. Live funk music by the CJ Baker Band plus a lot full of local Durham Food Trucks round out this sweet beer festival.

PickleFest Durham 2019

We are so excited for the first Durham Night Market at Pine & Poplar at The Wine Feed. Over 40 local makers will be selling their handmade products. There will be food trucks, live music, wine, and beer.

Why you should go: It brings more than 30 local culinary professionals (ranging from chefs to distillers to chocolatiers) together for an unparalleled opportunity where local foodies can taste all the best dining options from across the Triangle under one roof.
